Labor Day weekend is right around the corner but summer isn’t over yet. Here at BLU on the Water we want to make sure you end the summer right! We get asked frequently what our top picks for food and drink pairings are. Every person’s tastes are different and there is no right or wrong when it comes to pairings. The trick is in identifying the key flavors in your food and pairing it with those in your beverage.

The Wine and Food Experience
Wine is inarguable one of the finest complements to a meal. BLU On The Water offers a variety of wines to choose from offered in red, white, or sparkling. For a winning pairing, try a flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon with our 12oz sirloin and grilled vegetables. If you’re not a fan of red wine, you might also try a white wine Chardonnay. For a great menu to go with your Chardonnay, pair it with cheese planks for a light first bite. Crab cakes or oysters make a great appetizer pairing, and you can follow that with a main course of our grilled swordfish or lazy lobster casserole.
Beer and Any Food
We know New Englanders love their beers so we have over 30 different bottled and draft beers available to pair with any meal. Craft beers are known for their complex and bold flavors. For the ultimate pairing experience, try one of our light pilsners or wheat beers on tap with a delicious buffalo calamari. If you are looking for an entrée for lunch or dinner, order a Sam Adams Lager with our BBQ Bacon Burger. The flavor combination will be a match made in heaven!
Fall is in the Air: The Pumpkin Pie
The weather outside is temperate but the sun is still shinning – come to BLU and sip a perfect pour of our new fall drink Pumpkin Pie. Our Pumpkin Pie is Shipyard Pumpkinhead with a shot of Dr McGillicuddy’s Apple Pie liqueur and a caramel-cinnamon sugar rim. It is absolutely to die for! The Pumpkin Pie is perfectly paired with our signature BLU burger. Our burger comes prepared with ½ lb of certified Angus Beef and blue cheese crumbles on a perfectly grilled brioche bun. This delicious burger is perfect for lunch or dinner and a great pairing for the Pumpkin Pie with a salty and sweet combo. Add our famous parmesan truffle fries to make it the perfect combo.
